Can Fitness Replace Therapy?
Fitness is great! But it won’t free you from the leeches draining your energy, nor resolve childhood traumas and past-life issues that keep influencing your path, slowing your growth, development, and ultimately your success in every area of life.

I have a few friends who don’t believe in therapy, but they do believe in “facing their demons” in the gym, through martial arts, simple running, or yoga. I respect their position and salute them for finding a way to improve their lives on so many levels. After all, everyone is familiar with the benefits of any type of fitness:
🫀 1. Physical Health Benefits
🧠 2. Mental & Cognitive Benefits
❤️ 3. Emotional & Social Wellbeing
🧘 4. Hormonal & Reproductive Health
🧬 5. Longevity & Quality of Life

Moreover, fitness is one of the most affordable tools for raising your Kundalini energy – your divine fuel, which is your most important currency and driving force.

But can fitness, whatever mode you prefer – gym, Zumba, martial arts, running, dancing, swimming, yoga, etc. – replace therapy?

There are various therapeutic modalities that I will not be unpacking in this post (I am sure ChatGPT will be able to give you an extensive list of all with their descriptions and comparison charts). But as an integrated hypnotherapist and transpersonal regression therapist, I want to talk about very specific situations in which other ways of working with your mental, energetic, emotional, and even physical health are insufficient.

Integrated Therapy: Caring for All Bodies

When we think about health, most of us are conditioned to take care of our physical and sometimes mental health — thanks to global awareness campaigns.

However, human bodies are multilayered and require caring for our emotional and energy bodies. And that’s our approach in integrated (i.e. working with all bodies) clinical hypnotherapy and Tasso.

Just like we need to shower daily to wash away all the sweat, dirt, and pollution picked up throughout the day and protect our physical boundaries from others, we also need to be vigilant about polluting our energy space and protecting our energy boundaries.

AURA: When You're Energetically Vulnerable

Every one of us goes through situations that make our aura vulnerable and more likely to pick up “energetic dirt” from others:
  1. When we are on psychotropic drugs
  2. When we are drinking alcohol to the unconscious level, especially in a place with too many people (e.g., a nightclub)
  3. When we are in emotional turbulence - either too angry, furious, or happy and excited
  4. During intercourse (imagine having his mama’s or ex-wife’s bad energy getting stuck to your shiny, pretty aura:)
  5. When we got a head-related trauma
  6. Under general anesthesia (there is too much negative energy in the hospital)
  7. During menstruation (and that’s why your grandma told you not to go to church, synagogue, temple, or mosque — not because you’re impure).

Is Energy Contagious?

Unless you’re a hermit in the Himalayas, you’re surrounded by people -- those close to us and complete strangers. Regardless of relationship quality, you absorb their energy and emotions and, in exchange, lose pieces of yourself.

Think about the last time you went to an ample space, such as a mall or an airport: how did you feel after? Did you feel annoyed, irritated, tired, drained, impatient, angry, or reactive? By the way, because very often so many negative emotions are released in the gym during workouts, we could also pick up other people’s trash there.

The energies that are more likely to get stuck in your system and influence your life (in order of significance) are:
1. Your mother’s
2. Your ex-partner’s
3. Close family members: father, uncles, aunts, siblings, grandparents, etc.
4. Dominating, negative people with whom we are in close contact (e.g., mean bosses, clerics, etc.)
5. People with a lot of respect, adoration, and authority (teachers, gurus, mentors, doctors, therapists, etc.)

And trauma? It’s not just emotional. It’s energetic residue — sometimes even from others involved (bystanders, perpetrators, or other victims).

When Fitness Isn’t Enough: Use Integrated Healing

Case 1
A traumatic experience such as physical or sexual abuse, surviving war, losing a parent or other significant person in life, being bullied in school, being abandoned or betrayed, birth trauma, a terrible accident, a nasty divorce, surviving a relationship with a narcissist, etc.
Solution
  • Hypnotherapy or Tasso session
  • Inner child work
  • Life Scripting breathwork session, especially if the client struggles with talking about their trauma or is not great at visualization

Case 2
Particles of energy, implants, hooks, and energetic cords, vows, and curses that could be stuck in your system due to interaction or even randomly coming into proximity with others.
Solution

Case 3
Repeated life patterns: can’t find the right partner/ keep losing money/can’t sustain relationships with others/ feeling stuck or unlucky/self-sabotage/fear of failure or success/procrastination/control/perfectionism/substance abuse and addictions/weight loss struggle/lack of belonging/ feeling lost, depression or apathy, volatile behaviour, feeling tired all the time.

These could be pseudo and karmic obsessors, also known as characters from unresolved past lives, or external energies influencing our lives.

Say, you are a lady with a chain of bad relationships and painful breakups. Imagine being a man in one of your past lives, and hurting multiple women. Some of those women could come back in your current life as partners that will not stay around, restoring the balance by you “paying debts to them”. But others could have still been stuck in your auric space as a character from that past life, jeopardizing your romantic relationships and draining your energy. Or you yourself, as the past life personality, could still be haunted by a lot of guilt and shame due to the “bad” behaviour in the past lifetime. And since you, in your current incarnation, and all “protagonists” of the previous life times belong to the same soul, it’s like a damaged cell in the physical body that influences the healthy ones, until healed or removed.
Solution:
  • Hypnotherapy or past-life regression session
  • Family constellations

Case 4
Finding the root cause of an inexplicable pain, physical or emotional discomfort, or a fear or phobia.

Say, you have a terrible phobia of snakes, even though you may have never seen them outside of a terrarium in the local zoo. There is a very high chance you were, for instance, bitten by one in a previous life or were thrown to die into a well full of them. Or maybe one of your ancestors had gone through a gruesome experience and had it recorded in their DNA that you inherited.
Solution:
  • Hypnotherapy or past-life regression session
  • Ancestral healing session
  • Family constellations

Case 5
Understanding your life plan and purpose, and, as it is called in Kabbalah, Tikkun - correction or, in more broadly known terms, negative traits and karmic lessons that our soul has come to correct and learn in this lifetime.
Solution:
  • Numerical psychology session
  • Hypnotherapy or Tasso session on a life plan
  • Astrological natal chart (even though I do not practice it, I keep seeing how the same “default settings” I unpack for my clients based on their date of birth through numerical psychology are explained in astrology in its terms).
