Traditional psychology has already established that our personality is shaped by the memories of the events we experience in our lives. Regression therapy focuses on past events and how they influence our present-day behavior. It is thanks to this tool that we can access the “files” in our “database” that are hidden and can’t be accessed on the conscious level (e.g., prenatal or early childhood). But we are also shaped by our past lives (or ancestral memories, collective consciousness, if you prefer this explanation), and regression therapy helps us get to the bottom of these events and their influence on our lives.
Some examples of the problems and their potential correspondence to past life experiences based on “Healing the Eternal Soul” by Andy Tomlinson
Insecurity - from being abandoned or dying in a past life as a child.
Depression - often originates from hopeless thoughts from a past life of a slave, or dying in a famine, etc.
Phobias and irrational fears - unusual phobias such as fear of drowning, suffocation, fire, animals, knives, etc.
Obsessive thoughts - traumatic death or reckless actions. For example, obsession with cleanliness could come from a traumatic death in filth, and the obsessive habit of checking again could result from carelessness that led to the loss of a loved one.
Guilt - betrayals, killing loved ones, or leading many people to death.
Unexplainable pains, tensions, or numbness - past lives with traumatic injuries or deaths (e.g., injuries to the head, chest, beatings, or throat issues from hanging or strangling).
Panic attacks - traumatic deaths with rape, torture, interrogation, dying in the well, etc.
Anger or rage outburst - loss of family and possessions by invaders, torture, betrayal, and unfair expulsion from communities.
Relationships that fall apart repeatedly - betrayal by loved ones and various perpetrators and victim roles.
Feeling detached and isolated from other people - being shunned or excluded by the communities (e.g., religious, tribal, village, etc.).
