What I Wish I'd Known Earlier About Losing Weight


The training worked. The nutrition worked. The discipline was there. So why did it take so long?

It took me nearly 7 years to reach my weight goal and get back into the shape I wanted.
I tried various nutrition plans and online training programs, went through months of working out with my friend and fitness coach, daily cardio, and numerous sugar-free challenges to battle my sugar cravings.

Nevertheless, there was hardly any progress. Of course, I was getting stronger — but not quite there.

And then, at some point, I stepped on the scale and discovered I had reached my weight goal, followed by mirror confirmation!

So What Changed?
When I work with clients around weight loss or addictions through hypnotherapy, I always record customized meditations for them to listen to before sleep. It is this consistent habit that seals the deal. And it suddenly hit me: why am I not using all these tools for myself?

So, in January 2024, I recorded a Life Scripting meditation to activate my health goals and started listening to it daily. And the shift began to happen (which I now realize in retrospect) — my subconscious has mapped out the optimal diet regimen, I have stopped craving sugar, my energy has gone up, and I have started enjoying the gym again.

The training, the nutrition, the discipline — all of it mattered. But the meditation was the missing piece. The one that finally aligned the subconscious with everything the conscious mind had been asking for, for years.

Why The Subconscious Has To Be Invited In
Here is what I think most people miss about weight, health, or any long-held goal: the conscious mind already knows what to do. We know about protein, sleep, movement, and not eating sugar at 10 pm. As my friend puts it: “Any person who has been struggling with weight could write a thesis on the subject of healthy nutrition and exercise”.

So if the knowledge is not the problem, what is?
You see, the subconscious is running an older script — one written long before we ever decided we wanted this goal. And until those two minds agree, the conscious effort is essentially negotiating with a much stronger force that has different priorities (as a reminder, according to John Kappas’ Theory of Mind, not only is our subconscious much bigger, but it is also 6000 times more powerful). You can out-discipline that force for a while, but you cannot out-discipline it forever.

Here is how a Stanford neurosurgeon, Dr. James R. Doty, describes the same process in Mind Magic:
"Manifesting is the process of intentionally embedding the thoughts and images of the life we desire into our subconscious. Once the goal is embedded in our subconscious, our brain works like a bloodhound seeking opportunities to bring it about in reality, putting the full force of our conscious and subconscious minds behind the search. Knowing clearly what we truly want will allow us to set our inner compass in the right direction."

That is exactly what this energy practice does — and more.
It will not make you get healthier or shed excess fat cells overnight.

What it will do:
  • reprogram your subconscious mind and reinforce your desire to reach the goal (and these practices work in weight, in health, in wealth, or in love)
  • send the right signals into the energetic field — the matrix, the noosphere — so the solutions start finding you: the right doctor, the right practitioner, the missing piece of information, the product or person who will introduce you to exactly what you need to do next
  • deactivate the inner saboteur that pulls you off course in week two, when most attempts collapse
  • release the old identity stories that have been keeping the old patterns running the show
  • close the gap between knowing what to do and actually doing it
That last one is the one most people underestimate.
